About Tastes Like Records
Tastes Like Records is a new type of record label.
In 2018, Jason Reis started a YouTube channel, called Listography, where he ranked the albums of some of his favorite artists and occasionally reviewed new releases. His goal was not to become a critic, but to find a community of like-minded music fans to be a part of. When the pandemic hit in 2020 his friends Ryan Kramzer and Joe Steigerwald joined, and they soon rebranded as Tastes Like Music. The variety of perspectives and friendly disagreements that the new three-person format added helped to grow the channel way beyond what Jason initially thought possible.
At the end of 2023 two things happened: Kramzer decided to step away from the channel and Jason started talking to one of his favorite artists, Nordista Freeze, about the possibility of producing his next album.
As we started working out the logistics of making a record with Freeze it was decided that Tastes Like Music would finance and release the project. Using a year’s worth of YouTube ad revenue and Patreon support, Tastes Like Records was born. To our knowledge (and correct us if we’re wrong), this makes us the only record label funded by an online music community centered around a YouTube channel.
Our goal now is to be the most artist-friendly label we can be. Guided by our real passion for music and desire to share our favorite artists with the world, we hope to bouy deserving artists with our support and help to take them to the next stages of their career.

If you want to support that mission you can do so by buying a record, picking up some merch, joining our Patreon, or simply by subscribing to our YouTube channel.
