About On the Banks of Disappearing
Nordista Freeze is an artist who never stays in one place for too long; both literally and figuratively. Having played over 800 shows all around the world, including stops at Bonnaroo and other international festivals, he’s the definition of a road warrior. Musically, he finds inspiration in everything from The Beach Boys to SoundCloud rap and can be found dabbling in any number of sounds at any given time. On the Banks of Disappearing finds him in singer/songwriter mode, using the traditional forms of 60’s pop and 70’s troubadours to deal with matters of the heart.
Armed with his strongest set of songs to date, he assembled his favorite Nashville musicians and decamped to Pittsburgh for a week. Recorded and mixed over 5 days, the album is a snapshot of a moment in time. Old friends making music together again, captured as live as possible with minimal overdubs. The result is some of the most honest and emotionally vulnerable music that Freeze has made to date.
